Ready for Summer!
In the last three days we scrubbed and re-stained the deck - quite a job!. This morning we put the furniture back that was wintering in the garage.

New Acquisition
Friday we went to the Columbus Art Festival and bought this water color by Gary D. Curtis of Woodstock, Georgia.
The dimensions of the work itself are about 4" by 7"
It came framed under glass and you may see reflections not part of the piece. I tried to avoid them in these photographs and was more successful in the top picture.

Baby Robin in our White Pine
It's the last one to leave the nest - there were three huddled there yesterday.
A few minutes later I checked the nest and now it's empty. I don't know if they come back for a spell or not. I'll watch.

Memorial Day
Here's the new flag John Carragher sent for my birthday. It flew over Craig Joint Theater Hospital, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, on my birthday last year. It just fits in our space. Thanks again, John!

Some Spring Pictures
Yesterday we had a new tree installed at the side of the house - the old one had died for some unknown reason.
We also put in some new shrubs and I transplanted some grasses.

Here's a spring scene.
This is a hand colored etching by Susan Hunt-Wulkowicz

Have you called your Kindergarten teacher recently?
This morning I woke up and realized I hadn't contacted Mrs. Cady in a while, so I called her today. I found out that on March 13 (Friday the 13th!) she and her husband were on their way out to eat to celebrate her 83rd birthday when someone ran a stop sign and they were involved in a very bad accident. Their car was totaled but they suffered no serious injuries but some pretty bad bruises. Here is my kindergarten class in front of Fair Avenue school in the spring of 1950.

Sharing...
This morning I thought I would share a little painting that we have had for a long time. It is small - approximately four and three-eighths by two and seven eighths inches. There is no signature only a label on the back of the frame with the initials A.S.B. (To see it MUCH larger than life just click on the image.)
